Box Volume: Teacher Discussion

When we move through this exercise with students, we want to use a focused line of questions as opposed to a funneling one (Principles to Actions, 2014).

Some focused questions could be:

  • What is the problem we are trying to solve?

  • How can we simplify the problem into something we can model?

  • How should we begin?

  • Tell me more about that. How did you come to that conclusion?
